Police in Sioux Falls can't say if three apartment parking lot robberies are connected, but they see similarities between each of the three cases.

At around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Sioux Falls Police were first called to an apartment parking lot in the 4400 block of West Valhalla Boulevard. A man told officers he was walking when two men came up behind him.

Police said one of the suspects grabbed the man's arm and pointed a gun at him. The two took his wallet and phone.

The armed man was described as a 6-foot-tall black man wearing a white T-shirt with dreadlocks and a slender build.

Just after midnight, police were called to the 300 block of North Kiwanis Avenue. A man was walking from his car to an apartment building when two black men came up and pointed handguns at him.

The victim told police they took his wallet and cellphone before taking off. He said both were about 23 to 26 years old, 5'9" to 6 feet tall, and were wearing gray sweatshirts.

About 45 minutes later, a couple was unloading groceries from the car at an apartment building in the 6500 block of West 43rd Street. They told police two men armed with handguns walked up to them and started to grab at the woman's purse.

When she wouldn't let go, police spokesperson Sam Clemens said she was dragged by the suspect until the strap broke. Both ran toward some nearby garages, where the victims saw a dark-colored SUV drive away.

The suspects were described as a 6-foot-tall black man in his 20,  weighing about 150 pounds with short curly hair, and the second man was Hispanic and was seen wearing a white hat.

Clemens said each of the three robberies have similarities between them. He added that police don't know yet if they are connected to a recent rash of delivery driver robberies as well.

Police are also investigating a fourth robbery that happened at around 10 p.m. Thursday.

A man told officers he was walking along 6th Street near South Cleveland Avenue when 3 black teens approached him, and one grabbed and pushed the victim to the ground.

Police said the teenagers took off with the man's wallet and mobile device. The victim thought the suspects may have left in a red car.

No one was injured, and none of the suspects were armed.
