A Sioux Falls man who was previously acquitted on murder charges is back in jail.
Sioux Falls Police Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said Conner Hanson was arrested Monday morning for a reported case of domestic assault.
According to police, Hanson and her girlfriend had an argument at around 7:30 a.m. inside an apartment in the 700 block of West Rice Street.
Clemens said Hanson hit and pushed his girlfriend, then forced his way into bathroom when she tried to get away. After leaving briefly, Clemens added that Hanson returned to the apartment and hit her several more times.
After Hanson left the apartment again, a friend of the victim called police. He was found and arrested near Second Street and Prairie Avenue, and was charged with simple domestic assault.
In January, Hanson was acquitted for the shooting death of 18-year-old Anthony Gabriel.
