The Box Elder Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of smoke and fire visible in a residential area at 337 Cottonwood Drive.
First arriving firefighters found a fire burning with heavy smoke conditions in the interior of the single family home, with the smoke column visible for several miles.
Firefighters were able to confine the fire to the building, stopping the spread of the flames to nearby structures, infrastructure and other improvements.
The building received extensive damage.
The building was occupied by one adult, three kids and four pets.
The four occupants and two additional adult neighbors, were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Two of the pets didn't survive the fire.
No injuries to Firefighters were reported.
Note: It was incorrectly reported earlier that the structure was occupied at the time of the fire by six civilians.
