Authorities have arrested a man who escaped an arrest during a Mitchell traffic stop.
The Mitchell Department of Public Safety said Jamie Ray Benedict was arrested in Gregory County after the local sheriff's office received a tip call on Sunday.
Mitchell Police said Benedict escaped officers during a traffic stop on March 17. Inside his vehicle, officers said 44 grams of meth was found with a scale and other paraphernalia. He is also accused of stealing vehicles in Mitchell and Armour.
Benedict is being held in the Winner Combined Law Enforcement Center.
