A man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend before turning the gun on himself has died.
The shooting happened on Karmya Circle in western Sioux Falls on February 26.
Police confirmed Saturday afternoon that Cameron Young, 53, died on Friday, two weeks after the incident.
He had been facing 12-counts in connection with the shooting, including attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault and attempting to commit a felony with a firearm.
The victim had to have one of her eyes surgically removed, according to court documents in the case. Police say she remains in the hospital.
