The suspect and victim involved in a February shooting in west Sioux Falls are still hospitalized.
Sioux Falls Police Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said an arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for 53-year-old Cameron D. Young. Because of his condition, Clemens said no arrests have been made.
On February 26, police were called to West Karmya Circle for reports of gunshots. When officers arrived, they found Young and 30-year-old Kellie Dagel with gunshot wounds outside an apartment.
According to an affidavit, a witness saw Young fired a gun several times at Dagel's face before turning the gun on himself.
Clemens said the long-term prognosis for Young is unclear at this point. He said that Dagel appears to be making progress, but the specific condition of either her or Young is unknown.
A .25-caliber handgun recovered at the scene was reported stolen from Lincoln County in 2012.
Young is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, violation of a no-contact order, and grand theft of a firearm.
