A grocery store chain is voluntarily recalling packages of macadamia nuts because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.
The 2-ounce packages of macadamia nuts were distributed to all of Hy-Vee's 240 grocery stores in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The product comes in a blue-colored 2-ounce plastic bag and was sold between July 2, 2015 and Feb. 3, 2016. It's product code can be found in the mid-right column on the back of the product bag:

To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this product.
The potential for contamination was brought to Hy-Vee's attention after the product's supplier, Marathon Ventures, Inc., issued a voluntary recall on various retail and bulk packages containing raw macadamia nuts.
The voluntary recall was issued after Salmonella positive product was found during routine product sampling.
