Here is the first look at Novak as he heads into court. Today's hearing lasted about a minute. The judge went through the charges Novak faces. A Grand Jury indicted Novak Monday on first and second degree murder and manslaughter. Novak pleaded not guilty to the charges and asked for a jury trial.
Late last month, it was an intense day in Woonsocket when officers surrounded a home on South 3rd Avenue, not far from the school. Authorities quickly arrested Novak in the case.
