3 Handguns Stolen From Unlocked Cars In Sioux Falls

Police are investigating three car burglaries in south central Sioux Falls.

Public information officer Sam Clemens said a handgun was stolen from each of the vehicles:

• Unlocked Jeep in the 5200 block of South Sweetbriar Court
• Unlocked truck in the 6500 block of South Venita Avenue
• Unlocked car with open garage door in the 1000 block of East 61st Street

Clemens asked the public to lock their vehicles and not to leave valuables inside, especially handguns. He said police don't want to give people an opportunity to get guns without any checks.

A wallet was stolen from inside one of the vehicles as well.
