Four were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after a chase through Sioux Falls.
At around 5:30 p.m. Friday, two men were driving in the area of West 12th Street and Grange Avenue when they called police. The driver of a Pontiac Bonneville nearly caused a crash by running a red light, and then took off while driving recklessly.
Sioux Falls Police spokesperson Sam Clemens said the two men followed the Bonneville to 18th Street. The driver inside a Honda caught up to the Pontiac by driving nearly 50 miles per hour in the center turning lane.
When the Pontiac stopped for a stoplight at 12th Street and Western Avenue, two women inside the Honda got out and starting banging on the other car. The Bonneville ran the red light and Honda started to chase again.
While stopped at a stoplight at 12th Street and West Avenue, all four women got out of both vehicles and started fighting. Officers arrived and arrested everyone at the scene.
Clemens said the two women inside the Honda thought that the Pontiac had been taken. According to police, the vehicle wasn't stolen.
While sorting out the fight, officers found a 5-month-old child in an unsecured car seat in the back of the Honda. She was given to the custody of a relative.
Roseanna Marie Andrews, 33, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, reckless driving, abuse or cruelty to a minor, and driving with a suspended license. Her passenger, 28-year-old Jonnie Shiele Clifford, is charged with disorderly conduct and abuse or cruelty to a minor. Both women are from Sioux Falls.
The driver of the Pontiac, 22-year-old Ashley Marie Davis, was charged with disorderly conduct, reckless driving, and driving without a license. Her passenger, 43-year-old Jessi Berell Davis, also faces disorderly conduct charges. Both women are from Humboldt.
