If you need dinner ideas for Thursday night, a silent auction can fill your stomach and help a local family! Mitch and Kristine Jackson own Queen City Bakery in Sioux Falls. However, life has been far from sweet for their family lately.

From grills to artwork, both traditional and the more eclectic, there is something for everyone at a silent auction in Sioux Falls Thursday.

"We've got Twins tickets, Vikings tickets. We've got all kinds of concert tickets," said Steve Hildebrand, event organizer.

"Regardless of your disposable income, you are probably going to find something you can bid on," said Katrina Lehr-McKinney, president of All Saints Neighborhood Association.

The purpose of the night isn't just to get cool stuff. It's all centered around the Jackson family of Sioux Falls. Mitch and Kristine Jackson recently learned their young son Felix has a rare form of Leukemia. On top of that, a pipe burst in their home.

"It went behind all the walls in the house. Hit the insulation, so the house has really been torn apart down to the bare studs," said Hildebrand.

Steve Hildebrand is a neighbor to both the Jackson's business and their home in the All Saints Neighborhood. After learning about this onslaught of tragedy, the community decided to step up.

"We thought at first that we would have a nice, drinks and hors devours and a small silent auction, and our small silent auction has now turned into 97 packages or items," said Lehr-McKinney.

"100-percent of the proceeds of the event will go to the family. Everything is being donated. All the beer, all the wine, all the food. Everything," said Hildebrand.

Event organizers say the response has been overwhelming and gives them high hopes for the auction turn-out.

"It says a lot about South Dakota, that when people are in trouble, others are going to come to help," said Hildebrand.

The event will be held at Hildebrand's business, Josiah's Coffeehouse at 8th and Railroad. It's $35 to get in, which also includes a full meal. The doors will be open from 5:30 to 7:30 Thursday night.
