A Sioux Falls man is accused of dragging a police officer with his vehicle.
At around 1:30 p.m. Friday, police were called to 200 block of North West Avenue. Officers said 54-year-old Mark Graham was having an argument with a woman who was being evicted from a property his father owned.
Police said the woman threw a shovel at Graham's SUV, denting the front passenger door and scuffing the rear passenger window. Graham then allegedly grabbed her by the throat.
The window of Graham's SUV was rolled down halfway while he was seated inside. When the officer told him he was under arrest and told him to get out, Graham drove away. Police said the officer was dragged about 10 feet because his arm was inside the vehicle while trying to unlock the door.
Officers later caught up with Graham near 12th Street and Grange Avenue. He was arrested without incident and was charged with simple assault, aggravated assault, obstruction, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and felony simple assault on law enforcement.
Heather Pastor, 39, was charged with misdemeanor intentional damage to property.
